Kickers, Fusion FC Fall in USA Cup Soccer Playoff Brackets
Action wrapped up Saturday at the huge Target USA Cup youth soccer tournament in Blaine.
The U-17 girls Fusion SC team based in Plymouth lost a 2-1 battle to Twin Cities Rush of Blaine in the Gold division semifinals.
In U-15 boys Silver division play, Brooklyn Park-based Kickers FC lost 1-0 in the “A” bracket final to Sheridan Storm of Wyoming.
The Kickers had gone 2-0-1 in pool play before winning their first two playoff games.
Three local teams in younger age divisions won their groups– Fusion SC Academy of Plymouth won the U-12 boys Gold division, beating Minneapolis United Premier Black 3-2 in the final.
Fusion SC won the U-12 girls Gold 9 x 9 division, beating Tonka United 2-0 for the championship.
In the U-11 girls Silver division Fusion FC Navy beat Centennial SC 2-1 in the final.
