Julie Stewart Takes Over Wayzata Girls Basketball Program
Julie Stewart is guiding the Wayzata High School girls’ basketball team through their first weeks of summer workouts in a her new role as head coach.
Stewart was recently named the Trojans’ head coach following the resignation of Mike Schumacher who stepped down after 12 seasons.
She was an assistant on the staff the past four seasons and is the mother of former Wayzata all-state player Annika Stewart, who now plays at Nebraska.
Stewart has previous head coaching experience, including in North Dakota where she won three state titles while coaching Bishop Ryan High School in Minot.
