Hopkins Volleyball Loses Close Match to Minneapolis Southwest
The Hopkins volleyball team’s rally to win their non-conference match with Minneapolis Southwest Monday night fell just short, losing in five sets.
The Lakers won the first two sets 25-19 and 25-11 and led by five points in the third set before Hopkins came back.
The Royals won the third 25-21 and after falling behind again in the fourth set won that one 25-23.
Hopkins got to match point in the fifth and deciding set, going ahead 14-13 before Southwest scored the final three points of the match.
The Lakers are now 6-2 on the season while the Royals fall to 1-4.
