Hopkins Softball Wins 6AAAA Title, Advances to State
The Hopkins softball team advanced the state tournament with a 14-3 win over Minneapolis Southwest in the Section 6AAAA championship.
Signe Dohse and Lauren Granger each homered twice and Taylor Katzenmeyer also homered for the Royals.
Hopkins scored nine runs in the first inning and ended the game in the fifth with the game’s final three runs.
The Royals (20-4) now advance to the state tournament June 15-16 at Caswell Park in North Mankato.
Seeding for the state tournament takes place Saturday.
