Hopkins Softball Falls to Mankato West
The Hopkins softball team hosted a strong southern Minnesota team Tuesday in what turned into a high scoring battle.
Mankato West beat the Royals 12-9 in a game that featured four homeruns and only two scoreless half innings.
After Hopkins built a 7-6 lead through four innings, the Scarlets kept hitting, adding six runs over the last three innings.
Carlee Emery’s two-run homer in the top of the seventh helped to seal the win.
Signe Dohse had two homeruns and a double for Hopkins and was intentionally walked in her other two trips to the plate.
The Royals dropped to 6-3 with the loss. Mankato West is now 9-1.
