Hopkins Outscores Park Center in Girls Basketball Showdown
The Hopkins girls basketball team outscored Park Center for a 97-79 win in a battle of unbeaten teams.
The top-ranked Royals won their 43rd consecutive game by beating the third-ranked Pirates.
The scoring was fast and furious in the first half, with Hopkins building a 54-42 lead.
Park Center was playing from behind throughout the second half, and closed to within 11 points.
Hopkins was never seriously threatened down the stretch.
The Royals overcame an impressive 42 point game from Park Center junior Adalia McKenzie.
Paige Bueckers scored 30 points to lead Hopkins.
Five Royals scored in double figures, with Taylor Woodson adding 21 and Maya Nnaji 19.
Hopkins improved to 11-0 with the win. Park Center dropped to 11-1.
