Hopkins Lions Legion Baseball Falls to Waconia, 8-6
In a South Hennepin League American Legion baseball matchup, the Hopkins Lions dropped a home game to Waconia by a score of 8-6.
Hopkins got on the board in the top of the first with an RBI single from Wyatt Peterson, but that was followed quickly by a five-run inning in the top of the second from Waconia.
The Lions answered with a run in the third, but Maddux Schrupp responded with a two-run home run in the top of the fifth.
Hopkins chipped away and was only down three runs heading into the bottom of the seventh.
The Lions scored a run with one out on a wild pitch, but that’s as close as they got, falling 8-6.
