Hopkins Legion Falls in Central Plains Regional Opener
The Hopkins Post 320 American Legion baseball team fell 1-0 to Fargo, North Dakota in the Central Plains Regional opener in Sioux Falls, SD.
Each team managed just four hits as pitching and defense dominated.
Hopkins starter Gabe Olson pitched a complete game, striking out nine.
Fargo’s only run came on a fielder’s choice in the third inning.
Brock Zimmer was 2-for-3 at the plate in the loss for the Flyers, who play again Thursday afternoon in the double elimination tournament.
