Hopkins Legion Baseball Rallies Twice to Beat Chanhassen
Tuesday night’s South Hennepin League legion baseball game between Hopkins and Chanhassen featured four lead changes, but the Flyers were able to rally twice and knock off the Cavaliers 6-4. Jay Mound’s 2-RBI single was the highlight of Hopkins’ three-run third inning.
Later in the game, the Flyers were down by one run heading into the bottom of the sixth.
Joe Schaefer and Jake Fristad delivered base hits to give Hopkins the lead again.
Mound, Grant Goss, and Reid Oertli combined to give up just 1 ER for the Flyers.
Hopkins will host Bennington, Nebraska at 9:00 AM on Friday in their first game of pool play in the Gopher Classic.
