Hopkins Legion Baseball Overpowers Chaska
The Hopkins Post 320 American Legion baseball overpowered Chaska to continue a dominant run in the Sub-State 4 tournament.
The Flyers scored five runs in the first and never looked back on the way to a 16-2 win in five innings in the winner’s bracket final.
Peter Johnson hit a three-run homer and a two-run triple for the Flyers.
Paul Safranski went 3-for-4 with three runs batted in.
Hopkins has outscored three opponents 34-4 in the tournament.
The win guaranteed them a spot in Saturday’s final round.
Hopkins plays Excelsior Friday night.
