Hopkins Gymnastics Wins 6AA Title for Fourth Straight Season
The Hopkins gymnastics team scored a season high 144.375 points to win the Section 6AA team title for a fourth straight year.
Royals’ senior NyahSymone Britt won two of the four events- vault and floor exercise- and finished second in the all-around to Parker Stob of Minneapolis Washburn.
The Royals will compete in the Class AA team competition Friday at 6:00 pm at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul.
The AA individual meet is Saturday at 6:00 pm.
In addition to Britt, other local gymnasts competing this Saturday include 6AA bars champion Mady Johnson of Wayzata plus Hopkins’ Emma Tavernier (all-around), Vivian Kraling (floor), and Alea Jennings (6AA balance beam champion).
In Section 5AA Osseo’s Ella Hagelin qualified as an all-arounder after winning the vault, beam, and floor exercise.
In Class A, Breck won Section 4 and will compete at state Friday afternoon. The Mustangs’ Cata Fabrega won the 4A all-around title with Breck’s Abigail Getnick finishing second.
