Hopkins Gymnastics Hopeful for Another Banner Year
The Hopkins gymnastics team had a season to remember in 2022-23.
The Royals won both the Section 6AA championship and Lake Conference title on their way to a sixth-place finish in the Class AA state meet.
Now Hopkins hopes to repeat that same success for this upcoming season.
Having two key gymnasts return in senior Annabelle Speers and sophomore Nyah-Symone Britt will help Hopkins’ chances. Both Speers and Britt placed for the Royals at last year’s state meet.
Hopkins lost five seniors to graduation and have eleven newcomers on their team.
A focus early in the season is blending the veteran gymnasts with the new additions.
The team’s first Lake Conference meet is December 14th at Wayzata.
