Hopkins Graduate Paige Bueckers Wins 1st National Title
She saved the best for last.
Former Hopkins star Paige Bueckers helped the University of Connecticut to its 12th NCAA women’s basketball title Sunday, and the first of her spectacular college career.
Senior Bueckers had 17 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists in an 82-59 win over defending champion South Carolina.
Azzi Fudd and Sarah Strong each had 24 points for the Huskies.
Fudd was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
Bueckers is widely viewed as a likely top pick in the upcoming WNBA draft.
