Hopkins Girls Basketball Takes Down Minnetonka
The second-ranked Hopkins girls basketball team earned their 21st win of the season Thursday, beating sixth-ranked Minnetonka 82-75.
Royals’ junior Erma Walker led all scorers with 35 points while Ava Cupito added 15 and Mari Davis 10.
Ari Peterson and Lanelle Wright scored 19 points each to lead Minnetonka.
The Skippers led a few times in the first half but by halftime the Royals were ahead 45-30.
Walker was dominant inside scoring almost all her points at the rim and at the free throw line.
Hopkins improves to 21-2 on the season and faces Wayzata Tuesday as the teams battle for the Lake Conference title and top seeding in the upcoming Section 6AAAA playoffs.
Minnetonka falls to 19-5 with the loss.
