Hopkins Girls Basketball Survives Scare from Minnetonka
The Hopkins girls basketball team rallied from 14 points down in the second half to defeat Minnetonka 63-62 Tuesday night.
The Royals- winners of 66 straight games- played their closest game since February 1, 2018 when the beat Wayzata by just 3 points.
Amaya Battle’s basket late in the second half gave Hopkins its first lead of the night at 58-56. Piper Terry’s 18-foot shot for the win at the buzzer missed.
Battle and Taylor Woodson each scored 14 points to lead the Royals in scoring while Maya Nnaji scored 13.
Desiree Ware scored 15 to lead Minnetonka in scoring.
The teams play again February 18th at Minnetonka.
