Hopkins Girls Basketball Routs Wayzata
Maya Nnaji scored a game-high 25 points as the Hopkins girls basketball team routed Wayzata 102-52 Tuesday night.
The Royals, ranked # 1 in Class AAAA, lead the second-ranked Trojans 61-22 at halftime.
Freshman Liv McGill, who played at Park Center last season, netted 18 points and Alayna Contreras added 16 for the Royals.
Six players scored in double figures for the Royals.
Brynn Senden led Wayzata in scoring with 15 points while Jenna Johnson netted 11 for the Trojans (0-2).
Hopkins (2-0) has now won 64 straight games and was one win away from a second straight championship in 2020 when the pandemic shut down the girls basketball season.
The teams play again at Hopkins on February 12th.
