Hopkins Girls Basketball Rolls to Win in State Quarterfinals
Top seed Hopkins rolled to an 85-55 win over Cambridge-Isanti in the state class AAAA girls basketball quarterfinals.
The defending champion Royals took control in the first half, building a 54-24 lead by the halftime break.
Maya Nnaji had a strong game inside for Hopkins with 23 points, 7 rebounds, and three blocks.
Gatorade national player of the year Paige Bueckers didn’t need to shoot much; she was 3-for-4 from the field.
Bueckers dished out 8 assists for the Royals.
Hopkins meets Stillwater in the semifinals Thursday evening.
