Hopkins Girls Basketball Rolls Past Wayzata 89-62
The Hopkins girls basketball picked up another Lake Conference win with an 89-62 victory over Wayzata.
The Royals led wire-to-wire, jumping out to a 16-point lead mid-way through the first half and never looked back.
The Royals were led by their backcourt duo of Liv McGill and Tatum Woodson, who scored 50 of Hopkins’ 89 points. McGill poured in 29 and Woodson scored 21. Lauren Hillesheim (13 points) and Le’Sedra Willimas (11 points) also scored in double figures.
For Wayzata, Maren Day scored a team-high 17 points, as the Trojans fell to 17-7 on the season and 6-5 in Lake Conference play. Hopkins advanced to 22-2 with a conference record of 10-0.
