Hopkins Girls Basketball Overwhelms Becker
The Hopkins girls basketball team used a 31-2 first-half scoring run on the way to an 85-58 win over Becker.
The Royals, ranked first in Class 4A, outscored the Bulldogs, ranked third in Class 3A, 54-28 in the first half.
Nu Nu Agara led Hopkins in scoring with 19 points while Maya Nnaji added 16.
Three other Hopkins players- Amaya Battle, Taylor Woodson, and Alayna Contreras- also scored in double figures.
Hopkins finished the regular season with a 13-0 record and open the Section 6AAAA playoffs Friday against the winner of Tuesday’s Minneapolis South- Minneapolis Southwest game.
Hopkins has now won 75 straight games, three short of tying the state record.
