Hopkins Girls Basketball Falls to Minnetonka in AAAA Final
The Hopkins girls basketball team rallied late but fell short in their comeback bid, losing 64-56 to rival Minnetonka in the state class AAAA championship game.
Minnetonka had a 39-30 lead at halftime and the Skippers went up 56-42 with about seven minutes to play before a frantic rally by Hopkins pulled the Royals within 56-54.
Minnetonka held on for the win though, earning their second state title.
Aaliyah Crump had 23 points to lead the Skippers. Liv McGill scored 18 for the Royals as they placed second for a second straight season.
