Hopkins Girls Basketball Defeats Wayzata
The Hopkins girls basketball team earned a Lake Conference win with a 77-65 victory over Wayzata.
The Trojans held the lead for the first part of the first half, but once Hopkins took the lead at the eleven-minute mark, the Royals didn’t look back.
Hopkins went into halftime up 47-32 and were led in scoring on the night from Tatum Woodson, who scored 20 points.
Both Liv McGill (14 points) and Lauren Hillesheim (12) also netted double figures.
Sophie Hawkinson scored a game-high 22 points for Wayzata while Allie Berns and Maren Day each chipped in 10.
With the win, Hopkins has now won eight games in a row and is 14-2 overall (4-0 in Lake Conference).
Wayzata has a 13-4 record with a 3-2 mark in Lake Conference play.
