Hopkins Girls Basketball Back Atop Class AAAA State Rankings
With four wins in seven days over four of the top six teams in the class AAAA rankings, the Hopkins girls basketball team earned their way back to the top of the rankings.
The Royals secured wins over Wayzata, St. Michael-Albertville, Maple Grove, and Minnetonka– all in a row.
Heading into this week, Hopkins is 18-2 on the year with a 7-0 record in Lake Conference play.
The Royals’ only two losses on the season came against out-of-state opponents, Dowling Catholic and Johnston, both from Iowa.
Recently named McDonald’s All-American Liv McGill is leading the Royals in scoring, averaging 21.4 points per game, but Hopkins has had different players step up in big games. Eight different Royals have scored in double figures in at least one game this year.
