Hopkins Girls Basketball Advances to Championship Game
For a second straight game in the state class AAAA girls basketball tournament, the Hopkins Royals dominated.
The defending state champion Royals beat Stillwater 79-51 in the semifinals Thursday night.
Hopkins broke the game open in the latter part of the first half, building a 46-28 lead as Liv McGill beat the halftime buzzer with a layup.
The Ponies never really got back in it in the second half.
Taylor Woodson had 23 points and 12 rebounds for Hopkins, with McGill recording 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
The Royals will face Lake Conference rival St. Michael-Albertville for the class AAAA title Saturday night at 8:00 at Williams Arena.
