Hopkins Boys, Cooper Girls Basketball Teams Out for Playoffs
The Hopkins boys basketball team and the Cooper girls basketball team will not be participating in their respective section tournaments due to COVID-19 exposures.
In a statement Hopkins High School Activities Director Dan Johnson said “We had two exposures to COVID positive cases last Wednesday and Thursday. The quarantine period prescribed for such contacts goes beyond the scheduled dates for the section tournament. As a result, our boys basketball team will be unable to participate in the post-season.”
Cooper Activities Director John Oelfke also confirmed that the Hawks’ girls team will not be part of the Section 6AAAA tournament “due to a COVID exposure.”
The Hopkins boys finish the season with a 12-5 record. The Cooper girls’ final season record was 9-7.
