Hopkins Boys Basketball Stays Hot, Beats Benilde-St. Margaret’s
The Hopkins boys basketball team defeated Benilde-St. Margaret’s on the road to earn their ninth victory in eleven games to start the season.
This was the first time Hopkins and Benilde-St. Margaret’s met up in the regular season since 2014.
The Royals controlled the game for most of the first half, taking a 12-point lead into halftime.
After the break, the Red Knights went on a run and cut the lead down to four, but that’s as close as BSM got, as the Royals ran away with a 19-point victory.
Hopkins had five players in double-figures led by Anthony Smith’s 27 points. JJ Semanko (22 points), Jayden Moore (16 points), Julius Ellis (12 points), and David Hart (11 points) were the other four Royals who got in the double-digit scoring column.
The Red Knights were led in scoring by Jalen Wilson with 22.
