Hopkins Boys Basketball Earns Lake Conference Win Over Edina
The Hopkins boys’ basketball team picked up a Lake Conference win over Edina, beating the Hornets 69-59 at home on Friday night.
The Royals took a one-point lead into halftime after a back-and-forth first half. Hopkins controlled the game for most of the second half and made free throws late to avenge their loss to Edina earlier this year.
It was a balanced effort offensively for the Royals, as four players scored in double figures.
Anthony Smith III led all scorers with 22 points. Jayden Moore scored 18, JJ Semanko added 12, and Davie Hart chipped in 10.
With the win, the Royals advance to 15-4 on the season with a Lake Conference record of 6-2.
