‘Hopkins Basketball Experience’ Features HHS Hoops Alumni
This week’s youth boys’ basketball camp at Hopkins High School comes with a twist. Instead of being run by the Hopkins coaches, prominent basketball alumni are taking charge.
2016 Royals’ grad Vinnie Shahid and 2012 grad Siyani Chambers lead the Hopkins Basketball Experience camp and have been joined on some days by current NBA players, and Hopkins alums, Zeke Nnaji and Amir Coffey plus several other players who’ve succeeded in basketball beyond their years at Hopkins.
The former players collaborated with coaches Ken Novak, Jr. and Kerry Sutherland to change the camp from coach to alumni-driven.
The camp runs four hours a day and wraps up Friday.
