Hopkins Baseball Team Slips Past Washburn
The Hopkins baseball team slipped past Minneapolis Washburn 2-1 in the Section 6AAAA tournament.
Offense was at a premium in the game, as Washburn had one base hit and Hopkins three.
Miles Halligan of Hopkins struck out the first nine batters, and pitched four no-hit innings with 11 strikeouts.
Hopkins scored a pair of runs in the third inning and held on for the win.
The Royals are facing St. Louis Park in the winner’s bracket Tuesday evening.
