Hopkins Baseball Routed by Andover in State Quarterfinals
It was a rough night for the Hopkins baseball team in the class AAAA baseball quarterfinals.
Andover beat the Royals 10-0 in five innings.
The usually potent Hopkins offense was held to two hits.
Andover freshman starting pitcher Anthony Pardo threw four shutout innings with seven strikeouts.
A pair of errors in the first inning by Hopkins helped Andover take an early 2-0 lead.
They scored two more runs in the second, then finished Hopkins off in the fifth with five more runs.
Hopkins finished the season with a 16-9 record.
