Hockey Coach Bill Rooney Reaches Milestone
Hockey coach Bill Rooney reached a milestone late last week.
Wayzata boys assistant coach Rooney coached his 700th career game.
Rooney was Cooper’s head coach for 18 seasons and has been with Wayzata since 2015.
Rooney says it’s the kids that keep him coaching.
He played high school hockey for Armstrong and skates for Mankato State (now Minnesota State-Mankato) in college.
