Heritage Christian Boys Basketball Loses in State Quarterfinal
The Heritage Christian Academy boys basketball team dropped its opening game in the 2025 boys basketball tournament, losing 69-46 to Dawson-Boyd in the Class A quarterfinals.
The Eagles, seeded seventh in the tournament, were within six points at halftime 34-28, but a 12-1 scoring run to start the second half for the second-seeded Blackjacks helped put the game away.
Brayson Boike scored 31 points with eight rebounds to lead Dawson-Boyd. Gunnar Liebl added 18 points, 16 coming in the second half.
Abu Tarawallie scored 13 points while pulling down 19 rebounds in a losing effort for the Eagles (24-6), who drop into Friday afternoon’s consolation bracket. Owen Haag netted 11 points and Josh Sokeye 10 for Heritage Christian.
Dawson-Boyd (28-3) now plays Red Lake County in the semifinals.
