Heritage Christian Academy Girls Basketball Loses in 4A Final
The Heritage Christian Academy girls’ basketball team saw its season end with a 66-62 overtime loss to United Christian in the Section 4A final.
The Eagles trailed by three at halftime but rallied in the second half to lead by as many as 10 points.
But the Thunder came back from down eight points with 1:25 to play to force overtime and then outscored the Eagles 13-9 in OT to win their second straight section title.
Kaitlan Jones scored 24 points to lead Heritage. The Eagles, who beat United Christian twice during the regular season, finished the year with a 20-6 record.
Three Thunder players scored in double figures, led by 23 from Elizabeth Corley.
United Christian (14-11) meets BOLD in the state Class A quarterfinals Thursday at 5:00 pm at Maturi Pavilion in Minneapolis.
