Hamel Little League Baseball Games Begin
It was game night for Little League baseball players in the Hamel association Monday.
After a late start due to COVID-19 restrictions, Hamel players started practicing in early June.
Monday night, games started for six teams in the association as part of a shortened season.
There won’t be all-star competition at the state, regional or national level this summer because of the pandemic.
That didn’t seem to bother the young Hamel ballplayers.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new field at the main Hamel complex took place before the opening game.
A handful of Little League and other baseball associations decided a short season was better than none at all.
