Gopher Classic Legion Baseball Tournament Starts Friday
The huge 96-team Gopher Classic American Legion baseball tournament starts Friday morning.
Maple Grove’s new Gleason Field complex is one of 16 host sites for the tournament.
Along with Maple Grove, other local teams entered include Osseo, Champlin, Wayzata, Hopkins, and Providence Academy.
In addition to Minnesota teams there are also clubs from Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Ontario in the tournament.
Pool play at each site runs Friday through Sunday, with championship rounds Monday and Tuesday.
