Golden Valley Girls Softball to Kick Off 50th Season
The Golden Valley Girls Softball (GVGS) league will kick off its 50th season Saturday with opening day games and festivities.
The slowpitch league will have throwback jerseys with script resembling that from the 1970’s and 80’s, and 50th anniversary T-shirts will be sold.
The league will have 21 teams this season in the junior (grades 3-6) and senior (grades 7-12) divisions, with about 250 players competing in all.
Each team will play two games Saturday at the various fields at Lions Park.
The season runs until late July.
