Getting Their Kicks at Park Center
Summer workouts started Monday in the girls and boys soccer programs at Park Center High School, much to the players’ delight.
It’s the first week team activities are allowed in a new phase of COVID-19 restrictions around Minnesota.
For some of the players, it’s the first time seeing some of their teammates since in-person school was halted in March.
Park Center Activities Director John Hedstrom says it’s as much about the mental part of getting to reunite with friends and have something to be excited about as sharpening physical skills.
Some Park Center teams are starting right away this week, while others such as football, volleyball, and girls basketball, are taking more of a wait and see approach.
Right now the weight room is not being used due to COVID-19 concerns, leading to some creative outdoor exercises for the strength and conditioning program at the school.
