Game On for Football, Volleyball this Fall
It’s game on for local high school football and volleyball teams this fall after all.
In a reversal of a decision announced in early August, the Minnesota State High School League will allow fall seasons for those sports.
A special board meeting Monday brought a vote to reconsider the decision to push them to spring of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fall seasons for both sports were approved.
Football teams will begin practice next Monday September 28th, with first games October 9-10.
It will be a six-game regular season followed by a shortened two-week postseason.
Volleyball also can begin practice sessions September 28.
The first competitions can be held October 8.
It will be an eleven week season with 14 matches allowed.
