Fusion SC Girls U17 Soccer Opens USA Cup With Win
The five-day USA Cup opened Tuesday morning with several local teams competing in the nation’s largest youth soccer tournament.
Among the local winners was Fusion SC of Plymouth in the Girls under 17 Silver Division.
Nora Schaefer and Greta Nysteun each scored in the first 10 minutes of the match to give Fusion the lead for good against Richfield SA.
Anushka Poppler and Siena Yowan scored in the second half for Fusion on the way to the team’s 4-1 win.
Bracket play for girls and boys age division continues through Thursday with playoffs in most divisions starting Friday.
