Eight-Run Fifth Inning Propels BSM Baseball to Section 6AAA Playoff Win
The Benilde-St. Margaret’s baseball team was only up 1-0 after four and a half innings of their Section 6AAA semifinal game against Delano. But the Red Knights ripped off eight runs in the fifth and went on to defeat the Tigers, 10-0.
Jack Anderson got the bats going in the 5th for BSM with a double to centerfield. Anderson’s double was followed by a 2-run double from Connor Armand. Later in the fifth, the Red Knights loaded the bases and lead-off hitter Caleb Koskie drilled a bases-clearing double to centerfield.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s earned their tenth run in the sixth inning after a walk with the bases loaded.
Ford Stoen earned the win on the mound for BSM.
The Red Knights now advance to the section final on Thursday June 6th at Delano Municipal Field.
