Davison, Wieneke Enjoy Extra Time in Maple Grove
Under normal circumstances, they wouldn’t have been available this week to coach at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes basketball camp in Maple Grove.
But due to COVID-19, former Maple Grove High School two-sport stars Brad Davison and Jake Wieneke were home and able to help out.
Davison is entering his senior season at the University of Wisconsin.
He had planned to be back in Madison by now for summer team workouts, but joined many of his teammates in deciding to wait.
Wieneke is entering his second season as a wide receiver for Montreal in the Canadian Football League.
He was hoping to build on an impressive rookie season, but the CFL season is in doubt.
It was supposed to start in June but now September is the goal, and even that may not happen.
That means extra time in their hometown, and the ability to work with young players this week.
Wieneke is also getting to spend a lot of time with his three-month old son.
