Crystal Frolics Softball Preview
The Crystal Frolics softball tournament has a long and proud history.
The tournament undergoes some changes this summer as the main site moves from Becker Park to Welcome Park.
The softball fields at Becker have been removed as part of a major revamping of the park.
The so-called “Super Field” at Welcome is all new and will be the showcase field for the Frolics tournament.
Action starts Thursday with a dedication of the new field and the first games, plus a homerun derby.
In addition to two fields at Welcome Park, Bassett Creek and Valley Place in Crystal and Centennial Park in Brooklyn Center will host games.
