Cooper Girls Basketball Falls to St. Louis Park for Third Straight Loss
The Cooper girls basketball team lost for the third straight game Tuesday, falling 66-58 to St. Louis Park.
The Hawks opened the season winning their first seven games before the recent losses.
Cooper built a ten-point lead late in the first half before the Orioles surged to within 29-26 at halftime.
St. Louis Park continued to play well to start the second half and took the lead for good.
The Orioles pushed their lead into double figures before Cooper battled back to within six late.
The injury plagued Hawks couldn’t complete the comeback though.
Andrea Tribble scored 23 points to lead Cooper. Standout post player Kierra (Meme) Wheeler scored 15 despite being hobbled by an ankle injury.
Shantell Harden scored 15 points, 13 of them in the second half, to lead St. Louis Park.
The win gives the Orioles a split of the season series with Cooper and also enabled them to move past the Hawks into sole possession of second place in the Metro West Conference.
