Cooper Football Loses to Orono in Season Opener
The Cooper football team lost its season-opening game as the Hawks fell to Orono 21-18.
DaNari Connors scored two rushing touchdowns for the Hawks, the second of which put Cooper ahead 18-14 in the fourth quarter.
But Orono quarterback Charlie Kraus threw his third touchdown pass of the game on the next series to give the Spartans the lead for good. Kraus threw touchdown passes in the first, third and fourth quarters.
Cooper’s first touchdown came on a Chance Wicks to Key’von Cager touchdown pass in the second quarter.
The Hawks (0-1) host Waconia on Friday night in their home opener.
