Cooper Football Beats Washburn to Advance to Section Final

The Cooper football team overcame a slow start to beat Minneapolis Washburn 47-26 in the Section 5AAAAA semifinals Saturday.

Third seed Washburn led 3-0 after the opening quarter before second seed Cooper scored three touchdowns in the second quarter to go up 20-11 at halftime.

Cooper improved to 7-2 with the win.

The Hawks face Robbinsdale District 281 rival Armstrong for the section title.

The game is Friday at 6:00 p.m. at Armstrong.
