Cooper College-Bound Athletes Honored
Eight student-athletes who will compete in college sports were honored at Cooper High School.
The COVID-19 pandemic meant many similar ceremonies were cancelled or postponed, but the pride and persistence showed through for these athletes.
Three football players, three girls basketball players, and two girls soccer players were part of the ceremony.
All received scholarships of some sort to pursue their athletic and academic dreams.
In addition, one of those eight college-bound athletes, basketball player Andrea Tribble, was presented with her Athena Award.
Tribble was chosen as Cooper’s Athena winner for the Class of 2021.
For the second straight year the pandemic meant no banquet was held for Minneapolis area Athena winners.
