Cooper Boys Basketball Team Advances to Section Final
The Cooper boys basketball team advanced to the Section 6AAAA final with a hard-fought 63-61 win over St. Louis Park.
The semifinal game was the third meeting this season between the Hawks and Orioles, with each game decided by four points or less.
Cooper’s bench provided a big spark with 29 points, 14 of them by Joe Russell and 9 from Anthony Clay-Traczyk.
Davion Evans had 19 points to lead Cooper.
Paris Johnson Jr. scored 24 for the Orioles.
Cooper faces top seed Hopkins in the section final Wednesday at Osseo High School.
