Cooper Boys Basketball Crushes Armstrong to Move into Section Final
In their first meeting in four years, the Cooper boys basketball team crushed Robbinsdale district rival Armstrong 84-57 Friday.
The game was a semifinal contest in the Section 6AAAA tournament.
Second seed Cooper hadn’t played in two weeks heading into the game but they showed no rust.
The Hawks jumped out to leads of 8-0, 23-5 and 35-11 to put it away early.
Davion Evans had 23 points and Prince Appiah 17 to lead a balanced Cooper attack.
D’Sean Larkins scored 20 to lead Armstrong.
Cooper (15-2) now meets top seed Wayzata for the section championship Thursday at Wayzata High School.
