Cooper Boys Basketball Beats Waconia
In a matchup of two teams battling to stay in the title race in the Metro West Conference, the Cooper boys basketball team beat Waconia 48-43.
The Hawks had a 25-23 lead at halftime and maintained the lead throughout the second half.
The Wildcats kept battling back each time Cooper widened the gap though.
Davion Evans provided most of the scoring punch for Cooper with 28 points.
Noah Bonick had 17 to lead Waconia.
Both teams are now 4-2 in Metro West play.
Benilde-St. Margaret’s leads the league at 6-1 with Bloomington Jefferson at 5-2.
Cooper plays Benilde-St. Margaret’s Thursday in another key game.
