Chester Bird Legion Baseball Loses Sub-State Opener
The Chester Bird American Legion baseball team lost to Chaska 7-1 in the opening round of the Sub-State Four playoffs.
Chester Bird’s roster is made up of many of the same players from Benilde St. Margaret’s state championship winning team.
Chester Bird scored first on an RBI single by Tomas Lee in the top of the first inning.
But Chaska scored one run in the bottom of the first and one in the bottom of second before hanging up five runs in the fifth.
Mason Tangen and Drew Benson both had run-scoring hits for Chaska.
The tournament continues through Saturday at Veterans Field in Minnetonka.
