Champlin Park Girls Soccer Advances to Semifinals
The Champlin Park girls soccer team advanced to the state class AA semifinals.
The Rebels beat Stillwater 2-1 in a shootout in the quarterfinals.
Champlin Park converted on all five penalty kicks in the shootout to win that 5-4.
Lindsey Carlson made the decisive penalty kick after seeing her sister Megan leave in an ambulance after injuring her ankle.
It’s the first ever state tournament for the Champlin Park girls, who are undefeated this season.
They will face Maple Grove in the semifinals Monday morning at 8:00 at U.S. Bank Stadium.
The Rebels and Crimson tied in their regular season meeting.
